1. Purpose
These terms set out the conditions and procedures for using the “I want to…” application and the i12.net website provided by i12 (“the Service”), and the rights and obligations of you and of the Service.
2. Definitions
- User — a person who has agreed to these terms and uses the Service.
- Group — a set of people who signal to each other.
- Signal — one “I want to ~” button in a group, with its own label, target number and timings.
- Round — a single count opened on one signal. It ends on its own timer.
- Invite code — the six-character string used to join a group.
3. Effect and amendment
These terms take effect when posted in the Service or on i12.net.
The Service may amend these terms within the limits of applicable law. We post any amendment on this page seven days before it takes effect, and 30 days before where the change is to your disadvantage. If you do not agree to an amendment you may close your account; if you continue using the Service past the stated effective date without objecting, you are taken to have agreed.
4. Accounts
You sign up with an email address and a password. You must be at least 14 years old.
We may refuse a sign-up, or cancel it afterwards, where:
- you used someone else’s information;
- your use was previously restricted for breaching these terms; or
- the clear purpose is to interfere with the normal operation of the Service.
Your account is yours to look after. Do not share your password or lend your account, and tell us straight away if you believe it has been taken over.
5. What the Service provides
- Creating groups, joining with an invite code, leaving a group
- Creating signals and changing their settings
- Pressing, cancelling, and seeing a round’s progress live
- A notification when the group reaches its number
- Changing your availability, notification settings, blocking and reporting
The Service aims to be available 24 hours a day, year-round. It may pause temporarily for scheduled maintenance, equipment replacement, sudden load, or network faults.
6. Your obligations
You must not:
- use another person’s account or personal information;
- harass, threaten, or direct hateful speech at another user;
- put abuse, discriminatory language, other people’s personal information, or unlawful material into a display name, handle, group name or signal label;
- distribute invite codes in bulk to people who did not ask for them;
- call the Service excessively by automated means, reverse-engineer it, or circumvent its security measures;
- use the Service for any purpose prohibited by law.
Users write their own signal labels. The Service suggests none. Where a label a user has written breaches the law or these terms, we may remove it or restrict the account.
7. Groups and content
What you type — group names, signal labels, your display name — remains yours. The Service stores it only so far as it needs to in order to provide the Service, and shows it to members of the same group. It is not used for anything else.
Whoever creates a group is its owner. If the owner leaves, ownership passes automatically to one of the remaining members. When the last person leaves, the group and its records are deleted.
8. Reporting, blocking and enforcement
You can block or report another user from inside the app. Blocking stops you receiving notifications about that person’s activity.
We review reports within 24 hours. Where we find a breach of these terms we may remove the content, warn the user, suspend their use, or close the account. In urgent or unambiguous cases we act first and notify afterwards.
If you think a decision was wrong, write to support@i12.net and we will look at it again.
9. Leaving and deleting your account
You may close your account at any time from inside the app; doing so deletes the account and the records attached to it. The account deletion page sets out the detail.
Deleted data is not recoverable. You may sign up again with the same email address, but your former groups and records do not come back.
10. Suspension and discontinuation
The Service may discontinue all or part of itself as a business decision. If it does, we will give notice in the app and on i12.net at least 30 days beforehand, and give you the chance to export or delete your data.
11. Fees
The Service is currently free. If paid features are introduced, we will announce the price and conditions in advance and charge only where you have explicitly agreed. We will not retroactively make a feature you already use paid.
12. Limits of responsibility
The Service is not responsible for the decisions you make on the basis of what it tells you, or for their consequences. It reports who would like to step out; it does not take responsibility for anyone actually stepping out.
We are not liable where the Service could not be provided for reasons outside its reasonable control — natural disaster, carrier outage, or a problem with your own device or network. A notification may be late or may not arrive at all because of device settings, focus modes, battery saving, or mobile network conditions, none of which the Service controls.
Nothing in this clause excludes liability for our wilful misconduct or gross negligence, or any other liability that applicable law does not permit to be limited.
13. Additional terms for app store users
If you obtained the app through the App Store, the following also applies:
- These terms are between you and i12. Apple is not a party to them.
- Responsibility for maintenance and support of the app rests with i12, not Apple.
- If the app fails to conform to a warranty, you may notify Apple for a refund of the purchase price; any other warranty responsibility is i12’s.
- i12 is responsible for product liability, legal compliance, and any third-party claim that the app infringes intellectual property rights.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms, and on your acceptance Apple has the right to enforce them against you directly.
If you obtained the app through Google Play, the Google Play Terms of Service also apply.
14. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Korea. If a dispute arises, we will first try in good faith to resolve it by discussion; failing that, it goes to the court with jurisdiction under the Korean Civil Procedure Act.
